About our Founder, Andrew Steele
Andrew Steele is a repeat founder, CEO, and growth advisor who has spent his career building and scaling healthcare technology companies that solve real clinical and operational challenges. With more than 20 years of operating leadership across B2B SaaS, healthcare IT, and medtech, Andrew has repeatedly taken early-revenue platforms through regulatory clearance, product-market refinement, go-to-market execution, and successful exits that have returned significant value to investors.
Through Growthplane Advisors, Andrew works directly with growth-stage health tech companies to diagnose and strengthen product-market fit and engineer repeatable, scalable go-to-market systems that compress the time from pilot to predictable revenue. His approach is intensely practical, based in deep customer discovery, market analysis & segmentation, customer acquisition strategy and metrics-driven iteration. His mission is to bring critical extra horsepower to growth-stage companies to scale beyond initial traction toward exit velocity.
Prior to Growthplane, Andrew was co-founder and CEO of BeckonCall, where he built a clinical communications and collaboration platform and successfully scaled it to a national footprint inside provider groups and health systems. He also led commercialization for Breezing, an FDA-cleared wearable device designed to combat obesity-related chronic disease through precise, personalized metabolic assessments. Across these ventures and others, including earlier SaaS companies Knoodle and Truedomain, Andrew’s leadership has contributed to triple-digit annual growth and successful exits. Earlier, Andrew led increasingly significant business and corporate development initiatives at Terayon, MetaTV, Microsoft and MCI Communications.
What sets Andrew apart is his dual lens as both founder and operator. He has hired and led commercial, product, and clinical teams. He has raised capital, negotiated strategic partnerships with large health systems and industry leaders including Novo Nordisk, and navigated the unique reimbursement, regulatory, and workflow realities of healthcare delivery. He brings the rare combination of big-picture strategy and day-to-day executional rigor. These are the skills he now deploys to help portfolio companies move faster, close larger deals, and scale with confidence.
Andrew is deeply embedded in Arizona’s innovation community and actively mentors founders through programs such as XLR8 Accelerator program at Phoenix Bioscence Core, and through the Arizona Commerce Authority's many venture development programs. He also has contributed his time and stewardship in board roles with multiple non-profit organizations including the Midwest Clinic Foundation, HEALab at Arizona State University, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation at Taliesin West.
Andrew earned a BBA in International Finance & Marketing from the University of Miami with Honors, and an MBA with a concentration in Corporate Finance & Strategy from the J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University. He lives in Scottsdale, AZ.
